Shy and elusive, cougars live solitary lives within a system of mutual avoidance. Males and females interact for breeding when females are about 2 1/2 years old. Giving birth throughout the year, females can have litters of up to four kittens, but only one or two survive. Born spotted, the kittens stay with their mothers for about 18 months, after which time they will leave in search of their own home range. Males weight up to 150 pounds and can measure eight feet long, from nose to end of tail. In a healthy ecosystem, cougars are a top predator, helping to balance wildlife populations. Deer are their primary food sources, and the presence of deer indicates likely presence of cougars. However, as opportunistic feeders, cougars can survive on a variety of prey including rodents, birds, porcupines, fish and raccoons, as well as livestock and domestic animals.

FREE Shipping, Insurance and Insurance
We offer free shipping, insurance and tracking of your purchase. Art is carefully packaged and fully insured for shipment via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included. If your art arrives damaged, please keep all shipping materials and email the carrier immediately to arrange for full insurance reimbursement. We ship only to the contiguous 48 states.

How we produce our product
All giclées on canvas ordered from us are custom-produced, one at a time (not mass-produced), with professional software, wide format printer, archival non-glare matte canvas and vivid, long-lasting pigment inks. We also make our own frames (see below). We normally ship within three days.

Digital Imaging
Our digital imaging is a complex process that prepares the original photo for printing, and entails selecting the best color, canvas, and printing settings to produce museum quality giclees on canvas with rich and vivid colors that can be cherished with endearing legacy for a lifetime.

Our museum quality canvas has a matte surface that reduces glare and requires no glass framing. It is laboratory rated for more than 100 years of normal display life.

UltraChrome HDR Pigment Inks
Our giclée prints are created with 10 Epson UltraChrome HDR pigment ink colors, with far greater gamut (color range) than photographic dye on paper prints. Our process achieves rich and vivid colors that, when the art is properly displayed, the ink is lightfast for up to 200 years. Our giclees are given a UV and moisture resistant lacquer coating.

For info on custom giclees for photographers and artists email Frank.

Ready to Hang Gallery-Wrapped Giclées on Canvas

Gallery-wrapped edges allow you to hang your giclée with or without a frame. Gallery wrapped canvases are mounted on light-weight hidden wood frames that reduce shipping costs and are ready to hang. No wire or metal hangers are needed. A picture's background is either wrapped around the sides of the frame, which is 1" to 1.5" wide, or edges of the picture are "mirrored" on the sides (as pictured). Some Gallery Wraps will have solid color on the sides. Can also be mounted in a traditional frame.

Please email us if you have a preference.

Cougar frame   Floating Gallery Frames
Also called "Floaters" and "Box Frames," these have canvases mounted on the front of the frame and appear to be floating in its midst.

Indian Paintbrush pic   Blue-Stained Pine Frames
Sometimes called "Beetle-Killed Pine," the subtle hues in this wood can range from rust red to brown to blue-gray. While this wood is too soft for construction purposes, we turn it into beautiful picture frames.

Crystal Mill framed   Reclaimed Wood Frames
Also known as "Barnwood." We consider such wood to be artifacts, and salvage it from local structures slated for demolition. We then give the old and weathered wood "new life" as picture frames.

Monarch Butterfly pic   Flat Giclées on Canvas
Flat giclées on canvas are not mounted or framed, and are Priority Mailed rolled and shipped in sturdy USPS containers. Flats are ready for the customer to have stretched on wooden bars or board-mounted for framing. Sizes up to 12" x 18" have 2" white borders. Larger sizes have 2" borders on long sides and half-inch borders on the other two sides.
Board-mounting is recommended.

  Ready to Hang
Framed art has three holes ready for hanging. We recommend using the outer two holes. Simply hang them on well anchored screw or nails. Rock art, because of its heavier weight has one or two steel rings on nylon hangers that are attached to the rock's back with quarter-inch bolts and nuts secured in holes that run completely through the rocks.
